SPECIAL CAMPS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

At OMG Youth Sports, we are proud to offer specialized camps tailored for children with special needs, including our Power of Movement Camp and Sensory Play Camp. These programs provide a supportive environment where children can engage in physical activity, build essential life skills, and gain confidence through interactive and adaptive activities. Our newest program, Health Matters from OMG, focuses on promoting physical health and well-being, with modifications designed to meet the unique needs of each child. We are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, can thrive and experience the joy of movement and play in an inclusive setting. Our trained staff works 1-on-1 with campers when needed, creating a safe and encouraging space for all.

The Power of Movement class offered by OMG Youth Sports is designed to enhance physical fitness, coordination, and confidence in children through fun, dynamic exercises. This program is inclusive, catering to children with special needs, through personalized instruction and small group sessions. Participants build strength, improve motor skills, and develop social interaction abilities in a supportive environment. We teach most sports such as basketball, tennis/ pickle ball, volleyball, swimming, bike/ scooter-riding,  and also playground play, sensory play, jump rope, and martial arts.  The program fosters physical independence and promotes long-term healthy habits, making it a vital part of children's overall development.

12-week Exercise and Nutrition Health Education Program for People with Developmental Disabilities (IDD)

At OMG Youth Sports, we are excited to introduce our partnership with the Health Matters Program, a 12-week curriculum designed to empower individuals with developmental disabilities (IDD) to take charge of their health. This program provides comprehensive education on exercise, nutrition, and overall health. Delivered through in-person sessions and supported by home-based Google Classroom activities, participants will engage in three weekly lessons, each lasting 60 to 120 minutes. With a strong emphasis on human rights, diversity, and equality, the program encourages individuals with IDD to become active participants in their own health journey, with support from caregivers and their communities. By promoting independence, community engagement, and improved health outcomes, this program fosters a holistic approach to health and well-being for all.

Program start date: December 2, 2024
